St. Chris Youth Ministry ...most often known as Teen Club provides teens with a safe enviornment away from the streets and the pressures that exists for today's youth. Our Teen Center is where we organize our out reach to the youth of of our community. The Teen Center has a variety of games, TV, Air Hockey, Snacks & most importantly conversation. It is a place for youth to simply "be" or a place where youth can make friends, talk & ask for help if needed. We stress that everyone treat one another and themselves with respect, kindness & care regardless of what school they attend, race, or their financial backgrounds. We strive to create a place that is different from the streets, sports fields, & often times the classrooms. It is our goal to provide a safe enviornment and effective out reach to the youth in our community where they can grow individually, emotionally, socially, & most important spiritually.
St. Chris Youth Ministry follows the Catholic Church outline for parish Youth Ministry Programs layed out by the U.S. Bishops Conference. This outline recommends that the Youth Ministry be a comprehensive program, which touches on 8 specific areas. By providing programs & activities within each of these areas we as a parish will not only reach the most amount of youth but we will best help & support each individual youth of our parish.
Below you will find a breakdown of each component of St. Christopher's Youth Ministry. We strongly encourage you to take a few minutes to become more aquainted with the different componenets of our Youth ministry, and to see examples of activities we offer for each component. Having this information will help you to see the benefits of encouraging your teen to be involved and to understand why so many teens prioritize & value their involvement in this Ministry which is dedicated to assisting & serving them.
