Cancellations & Refunds
Activities take time, staffing , and resources to plan and facilitate BEFORE even one student signs up. When students sign up for programs and events both the PARENT AND STUDENT must seriously consider the commitment they are making. Even one cancellation impacts an event. Just one cancellation very often throws off car pool arrangements, bus arrangements, minimum number of fpeople required for group rates & reservations etc. Plus approx. 95% of the participants wait until the very last day & minute to turn in their permission slips. The program is completely voluntary & meant to be an out reach to teens so we do our best to prepare for all those last minute permission slips & accept as many late permission slips as possible. Many considerations are taken to plan Youth Ministry activities & programs. With all of this in mind we are sorry to say that once a student signs up there are no refunds. You will remain responsible for the full payment even if you withdraw your teen the day after you sign up. We need the commitment considered seriously because each participant's cacellation impacts several aspects of an event.

If you are interested in chaperoning or volunteering for ANY Youth Ministry event or even joining your son/daughter at a Youth Ministry event then you will need to become an approved volunteer. An approved volunteer means you have completed the "Archdiocese of Chicago Volunteer Application and have attended a "Protecting God's Children" Awareness Session. The process is not overly complicated yet it does require advance planning. Waiting until you want ot volunteer or join your son/daughter at activity is not possible. In fact we are asking our parents to prepare yourself.
The Youth Ministry is trying to create a "bank" of volunteers. We are seeking parents who are willing to go through the approval process to ensure you can participate when you like and so we have volunteers that are already approved. IT DOES NOT COMMITT YOU TO ANYTHING. Becoming an approved volunteer simply means that, you are an approved volunteer.
To learn more about the process please visit the "Protecting God's Children" page on our parish website for more information. Every volunteer in our parish who works with youth is required to go through this process. Hence, the detailed information & directions are offered via the parish website.
